Thursday, July 24th, 2008 | Employment and Citizenship | No Comments

When you apply for citizenship of the United States it is best if you have a job and you are working. There are many reasons why you should obtain work. These include being a good citizen, having a positive effect on the economy, and more.

When you apply for status into the US you should have a job. The primary reason you should have employment is to prove that you want to be a withstanding and responsible citizen. If you hold work but get paid under the table this is not acceptable. It is illegal and will not be okay. You must have an actual job and be paying taxes. Your job must be verifiable also. You should not hold a job and the only way you can verify your job is through bank deposits. This will look to the government as if you are doing something illegal for your work and it will be frowned upon. You should hold a responsible job for a long period of time. If you become an executive or a high paying officer of a company you have a better chance of becoming a resident.

You will also gain your green card faster if you start your own business. When you start your own business in the United States you are having a positive effect on your local economy. This is a good thing and will be looked upon as positive. This is because business owners in the United States have to pay very high taxes. Your business provides a need to the local economy and you also pay the government a ton of money. You will gain citizenship faster the more money you are paying into the government as taxes and other fees. It doesn’t matter the type of business you have. You might make candles for a living and sell them to people in a little shop. You can even be an Internet marketing consultant. The market for employment in the US is open to anyone to work any position they want to do.

If you do not hold a job while you are waiting for the government to approve you for status as a citizen in the United States it will be frowned upon. You cannot sit around all day long and do nothing because it will look bad. Even if you have a lot of money and you do not need to work, you should. When you hold employment it gives you a tie to the country and if you have an employer who can vouch that you are an asset to the company this can be even better for you. You should not sit around and do nothing.

Employment is important when you apply for citizenship and you are waiting for the United States government to approve you. You should have an honorable job. The more skills you obtained the more valuable you are to the country. Owning your own business is a better decision because the government will be getting more money from you and you will be contributing to your local economy.
